Designing Danebury

As part of the Alton Renewal Plan proposals you are invited to the first workshop, which is focused on the Danebury area. Please join us to help shape the plans for the future of housing, shops, community and open spaces.

Join us for the workshop event at Roehampton Library, Danebury Avenue, on Saturday 16th November from 11am
and on Tuesday 19th November from 3pm.

Refreshments will be provided.

Poster advertising Dons Fit, a free female-only fitness programme.

DONS FIT - WOMEN-ONLY

The Alton Regeneration team is excited to share the new times and dates for the free female fitness programme run by AFC Wimbledon Foundation.

Sessions take place on:

Mondays (from Monday 2nd September 2024) in the Roehampton Sport and Fitness Centre, Laverstoke Gardens SW15 4JB at the new time of 11am-12pm. 

Tuesdays, from 11am-12pm in the Davies Sports Hall at the University of Roehampton, Laurence Court Froebel Court SW15 5PJ (from Tuesday 3rd September 2024).

In addition to the regular fitness classes, the Dons Fit for Women sessions will feature a variety of workshops and events, including yoga and selfcare workshops, as well as a female-centered self-defence class. This term, AFC Wimbledon Foundation is also offering Dons Fit participants free match day tickets to the AFC Wimbledon Women’s team games, with the chance to be hosted in a VIP box at Plough Lane Stadium!

Celebrate the Restoration of our Grade II* Listed Bull

Join us at 10am on Tuesday 26th November to celebrate the restoration of our Bull on Downshire Field (Bull Green).

"Bull" is a Grade II* Listed sculpture by artist Robert Clatworthy, which was created in 1961. It was commissioned at the behest of A.W. Cleev Barr, one of the lead architects for the Alton Estate.

The statue has been restored by Heritage of London Trust and refreshments will be served at the celebration event, which will take place next to the Bull on Downshire Field. There will also be an opportunity to see the future plans for Downshire Field.

Chantelle's Community Kitchen

As featured on BBC London News, Chantelle's Community Kitchen offers pre-packed nutritious homemade meals every Tuesday between 11am and 1pm.

Come along to Portswood Space (4 Portswood Place SW15 4ED) for a free homemade meal to eat in or takeaway. Donations will be much appreciated if you feel able.

Chantelle’s Community Kitchen always welcomes new volunteers, with or without cooking experience. There are a variety of roles to fill in the friendly kitchen on Mondays and Tuesdays.
